Why do we forget the importance of the pre-theatre meal? Often resorting to quick sandwich from Pret, the rush before a show can leave many substituting their evening meal for a less-than-elegant snack courtesy of the nearest fast food outlet.

To change this, we've rounded up our favourite restaurants perfect for a sit down meal before your show to start the evenings as you mean to carry on. 

45 Jermyn St.

Fortnum & Mason's lavish cocktail bar, situated just behind Piccadilly Circus, is the perfect venue for a pre-theatre nibble with set menus on offer before showtime. Aquavit London

This Nordic-style restaurant is set in the newly regenerated St James' Market. The set menu offers Swedish classics including Meatballs and Kroppkakor, followed by delicate rosehip soup with almond ice cream. 

Brasserie Zédel

The phenomenal art-deco interior, formerly having held The Regent Palace Hotel, makes this restaurant something special. Frequently voted one of London's most romantic restaurants, Close Maggiore is the perfect destination to take a special someone. A possible reveal to the spectacular of the show, the gorgeous interior will undoubtably set the mood, their pre-show menu offers rare seared yellow fin tuna, hand-rolled pappardelle and a Gariguette Eton mess.
