Cannes Film Festival 2017: What to Expect

Cannes Film Festival, celebrating new upcoming films from around the globe to an invitation-only audience, is set to provide the fashion world with another yearly array of the best (and worst) dressed celebrities of 2017. After the recent opportunity to show off their style at the Met Gala, Cannes is the next chapter for the style-elite to dazzle.

This year the festival will be celebrating its 70th anniversary, held between the 17th and 28th May, having been founded in 1946.  Films from around the world are previewed at the special screenings during the festival, and this year include entries from Netflix, Amazon and Sky Atlantic's Twin Peaks after new rules. All entries will be wishing to win The Palme d’Or, the biggest award given at the festival, or an Honorary Palme D'Or which is awarded to directors or actors with a notable body of work behind them.

Not only a celebration of talent, as superyachts sail in to the stunning Cote d'Azur, every celebrity face you need to know will also be making an appearance, leaving the red carpet dripping in diamonds. Last year, Kirsten Dunst was often voted in best-dressed list in a stunning yellow Maison Margiela organza dress, as well as Rosie Huntington-Whitley who graced the carpet in a floaty red halterneck number by Alexandre Vauthier. And who can forget when Lupita Nyong'o made jaws drop as she twirled in a draped jade Gucci gown in 2015.

We can't wait to see what styles take to the red carpet and to pick our best and worst dressed 2017....
