A Bright Trend After Paris Fashion Week

Get your most chic sunglasses out because this Spring/Summer is a bright season. As we’re all eagerly waiting warmer weather, Paris Fashion week gave us a tease of sunshine this past week. What do we mean by this? Yellow. The last leg of Fashion Month saw many luxury labels adding a splash of the vivid colour to their collections.

the Yellow Edit

Hermès presented us with a few sun-coloured jackets to admire. These versatile examples included an elegant yellow waist-length jacket cut into a block shape with a subtle collar, and a full-length yellow trench with a cinched waist and dramatic lapels. The jackets are both designed in a soft tone of yellow, ensuring a hue that won’t overpower any other piece of a completed look.

And for those who want to join in this energetic trend but don’t want a jacket in the warmer season, Valentino revealed a shimmered and bright yellow dress at T-length in a draped fabric with a drop-waist and high neckline. Nina Ricci offered an alternative dress, also done in yellow but this time a more muted tone, and with a much lower neckline.

And if yellow isn’t playful enough as is, Chloé took it a step further, showing a crafty paisley pattern dominated by shades of yellow. The pattern’s most spirited rendering was in a high-necked playsuit paired under a sleek coat. A similar idea was seen in a Balenciaga sundress—a large floral pattern laid out over a lively yellow base took the upbeat trend up a notch.

With this variety of options, this spring’s sunny trend will be an easy one to follow.
